Celluloid Cities:
Raw and Uncut

‘Celluloid Cities: Raw and Uncut’ was series of events around London exploring the dynamic of different urban experiences in the 1990s and the postcolonial city. Rana Salam reproduced three Egyptian billboard size cinema posters from her archives and exhibited them around the streets of London and online to reach maximum reach and effect.

The project ‘Egyptian Cinema Posters’ celebrated the rapidly changing artistic practice around modernisms during June 1999, covering the relationship between popular culture and visual art.
