The London Design Biennale 2016 took over the whole of Somerset House, including the famous Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court. A utopian Beirut Street, curated by Annabelle Kassar and AKK Architects brought to London the impalpable spirit of Lebanon. The street is where design is created. The people of Lebanon are the designers and makers. They express themselves by reinventing their surroundings and creating design to satisfy their need, from the streets of Beirut, Tripoli, Saida, Nabatiye and Zahle. A scaffolding created the structure in which the studio was commissioned to place its signature graphics which celebrated iconic Middle Eastern street posters.
